Clearly stated on the 'FREE TRIAL' page '7 days free, then 139.95 a month' but customer services are trying to tell me as I purchased a monthly and not a yearly that the 7 day free trial doesn't count. I cancelled after 3 hours! Had to request a chargeback via my credit card.

Our subscription suddenly jumped from the agreed $229.95/month to over $500 due to 'add-ons' we didn't knowingly agree to. When adding a new user, the screen stated it was free—yet we were billed $160 without any clear notice. Their support was rigid and dismissive.

I've been using Semrush since they first introduced their demo over a decade ago, but I finally decided to check out the competition, especially with their credits system. The competition out there doesn't only compete with the tool set, but also with pricing. There are tools that have daily keyword tracking for a fraction of the price.

They charge for everything, there are free trials everywhere yet cancelling a subscription requires sending emails, waiting and reading policies. The platform is OK tho, just be mindful they'll try to take your money from you a million different ways.

I've been an Ahrefs user for years, but after diving into SEMrush's tools and features, I was seriously impressed. From keyword research and competitor analysis to content and AI tools, it's truly comprehensive.
